Two Tigers land Liberty League weekly honors

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Two RIT student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League with weekly accolades, announced Monday. First-year defender Katherine Killian was the Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, while sophomore Sadie Rose was the Women's Track Performer of the Week.

Killian won 13 draw controls, caused seven turnovers, grabbed eight ground balls and scored her first collegiate goal to lead RIT to a 1-1 record, last week. She won six draw controls, caused five turnovers, had four ground balls and scored her first goal to help lead the Tigers to a 19-0 win at Bard, Friday. Killian won seven draw controls, caused two turnovers and grabbed four ground balls in Saturday's 17-11 loss at Vassar.

Rose won two individual events and was a member of a winning relay at the U of R Invitational, Sunday. She lowered her program record in the 400, winning in an Atlantic Region qualifying time of 56.01, and broke her record in the 200, winning in 24.50 to qualify for the Atlantic Region Championships. Rose was a member of the winning 4x400 relay team finishing with an Atlantic Region qualifying time of 4:01.42.
