ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Four RIT student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League with weekly honors announced Monday.
First year Caroline Henderson was the Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week while Emily DiMarco was the Field Performer of the Week. On the men's side, graduate student Drew Scheib and senior Gellert Kish were named the Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week.
Henderson helped to a pair of wins to open Liberty League play over the weekend. She scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Friday's 82-50 win over Bard. She scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 66-63 win over Union, Saturday. Henderson scored 23 points and made a single-game record seven three pointers against Brockport, Tuesday.
DiMarco opened the indoor season with a second-place finish in the Shot Put (12.41m) and a third-place finish in the Weight Throw (15.10m) at Nazareth's Alumni Opener.
Scheib won three individual events and was part of four winning relays to help lead the Tigers to a win at the Don Richards Invitational. Friday, Scheib won the 200 IM in a time of 1:52.99. Saturday, he won the 100 butterfly (48.28) and the 200 butterfly (1:48.68). He swam the anchor leg in the winning 200 freestyle relay and the opening leg in the 400-medley relay. He led off in the winning 200 medley relay and swam the anchor leg in the 400-freestyle relay.
Kish won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions to help lead RIT to a win at the Don Richards Invitational. He won the 1-meter competition with a score of 534.85 and 3-meter competition with a score of 536.90.
