ITHACA, N.Y. – The RIT men's and women's divers completed the NCAA Division III Diving Regionals on Saturday with all six divers hoping to have earned bids to the NCAA National Championships later this month.
On the men's side, senior Gellert Kish placed third in the 3m event with a score of 543.05 as sophomore Luke Albanese took fourth with a score of 526.60. At the 1m height, Kish scored 514.45 to earn second place with Albanese finishing 10th with a score of 435.20.
For the women's team, sophomores Maddi Williams and McKenna Porter were fifth and sixth in the 1m with scores of 404.65 and 392.05, respectively. Gwen Petrie, a sophomore, scored 383.35 points for eighth place, and senior Taylor Stanley finished 19th overall with 339.05 points.
In the 3m event, Petrie placed fourth (451.25) with Williams in fifth (427.70) to lead RIT. Porter took 10th with a score of 412.05 as Stanely finished with 363.50 points to finish 21st.
The NCAA will announce the national championship qualifiers on Monday (Mar. 3).
