Women's Swimming & Diving in second place after first day of Liberty League Championships
ITHACA, N.Y. – The RIT women's swimming & diving team remains in second place with 707 points after the second day of competition at the Liberty League Swimming & Diving Championships.
Host Ithaca currently sits in first place with 788.5 points, followed by RIT and RPI (693) in the top-three.
Preliminary events begin at 10:00 a.m. each day, followed by final events starting at 6:00 p.m. Stay tuned for daily updates.
Thursday Highlights:
- Junior Anna Peshenko won the 400 IM with a time of 4:29.93
- The relay team of senior Samantha Russell, first-year Rose LaDue, senior Emma Thomas and sophomore Sydney DeLapp placed second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:35.35
- First-year Rose LaDue, junior Anna Peshenko, senior Samantha Russell and senior Emma Thomas were on the second-place 400 medley relay team (3:51.19)
- First-year Maddi Williams finished third in the 1-meter dive with a score of 463.50
Wednesday Highlights:
- First-year Rose LaDue (24.08), senior Samantha Russell (24.08) and senior Emma Thomas (24.10), took the top-three spots in the 50 free
- The 200 medley relay team of first-year Rose LaDue, senior Samantha Russell, first-year Anna Beahan and senior KhaVy Sangasy, placed first with a Liberty League and program record time of 1:44.23,
- Sophomore Lorelei Robinson finished second in the 500 free (5:08.71)
- First-year Anna Beahan placed third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.10
