Women's Soccer draws RPI in scoreless contest

TROY, N.Y. –  Despite dominating possession and creating numerous scoring chances, but the RIT women's soccer team was unable to find the back of the net in a scoreless draw at RPI, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • RIT outshot RPI 18-1, including 13 shots in the first half.
  • RIT earned six corner kicks, with four coming in the opening 45 minutes.
  • The Tigers' best chance came in the 80th minute when junior midfielder Emma Pedro hit the left woodwork, narrowly missing the game-winner.

 
GAME NOTES

  • First-year Bella Coccio and sophomore Amerie Mills led the Tigers with three shots each with both players putting two shots on goal.
  • RIT senior goalkeeper Emily Sanchez earned the shutout without needing to make a save, as RPI managed just one shot and none on goal.
  • RIT moved to 5-0-4 overall to remain undefeated and 2-0-1 in Liberty League play.
