Gomez named a United Soccer Coaches All-American
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior midfielder Jessie Gomez was named a Third Team United Soccer Coaches Division III All-American.
A First-Team All-Liberty League selection, Gomez started all 20 games in 2023, tallying 1,246 minutes of playing time. The Silver Spring, M.D. native was third on the team with 12 points on five goals and two assists, including a Liberty League best three game-winning goals this fall.
Recently named first-team all-region, Gomez earned Liberty League Offensive Player of the Week honors twice this season after scoring the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at Clarkson (Sept. 23) and the game-tying goal in a 1-1 finish at Nazareth (Oct. 3).
RIT finished the season 9-6-5 overall and earned its fifth at-large NCAA Tournament berth in program history. The Tigers defeated host Babson, 1-0, before falling to Amherst, 3-1, in the second round.
