ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT sophomore Serafina Kiselgof scored five goals in the Tigers 11-8 win over Clarkson on Senior Day, Saturday. RIT honored seniors Claire Templeton and Carrissa Hlywa before the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior midfielder Lily DePalma and Kiselgof scored back-to-back goals early in the opening quarter to give the Tigers an early lead.
- Clarkson's Julia Lavarnay scored to cut the Tiger's lead to 2-1 before back-to-back goals from Kiselgof and DePalma increased the RIT lead to 4-1.
- Makenna Cassin scored for the Golden Knights and DePalma and Kiselgof tallied consecutive goals to increase the Tiger's lead to 6-2.
- Kiselgof scored twice in the second quarter and DePalma scored once, taking a 9-3 lead on DePalma's free-position goal with seven seconds to play in the half.
- Hailley Millington scored all three Clarkson goals in the third quarter, cutting the RIT lead to 10-6 on her goal with 6:57 to play in the quarter.
- Sophomore attack Adele Jones scored with 10:45 remaining in the third to give RIT a 10-4 lead.
- First year attack Emma Ripley scored with 7:03 to play in the fourth quarter to give the Tigers an 11-6 lead.
- Maeve Bartell and Gabby Cranfield each scored for the Golden Knights to make it an 11-8 final.
GAME NOTES:
- RIT outshot Clarkson, 29-21.
- The Tigers won 19 ground balls and went 19-of-21 on clears.
- Sophomore goalie Ellie Ruddy made five saves in net and first-year defender Katherine Killian caused two turnovers, won three draw controls and had six ground balls.
