Women's Hockey loses 5-3 at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – RIT first year defensewoman Emma Pickering tallied a goal and an assist in the Tigers 5-3 loss at Penn State, Friday.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Junior forward Megan McCormick scored 1:01 into the game to give the Tigers the lead.
  • Penn State's Tessa Janecke tied the score on her goal at 12:53 of the opening frame.
  • Junior defensewoman Kyla Bear tallied a power play goal at 18:51 of the first to give RIT a 2-1 lead.
  • Mya Vaslet tied the game for the Nittany Lions on her goal at 19:18 of the first period.
  • Penn State took a 3-2 lead on Katelyn Roberts' goal at 14:11 of the second period.
  • Pickering tied the game at 3-3 on her goal 2:28 into the third period, tapping in a loose puck in front of the Penn State net.
  • Roberts scored her second goal of the game at 8:24 of the third to give Penn State a 4-3 lead, while Vaslet tallied her second of the game at 17:29 to give the Nittany Lions a 5-3 lead.

  • Junior goalie Sarah Coe made 32 saves in net for the Tigers, while junior forward Kylie Aquaro had an assist
