Men's Tennis drops a pair of matches at NYU and TCNJ
TRENTON, N.J. – The RIT men's tennis team lost at New York University and at The College of New Jersey, Saturday and Sunday. The Tigers lost 6-1 at NYU followed by a 4-3 loss at TCNJ the following day.
RIT won the doubles points with wins at second and third doubles in Sunday's match at TCNJ. The team of first years Yu Tanimoto and Alexander Sinclair defeated Brett Schuster and Alberto Thomas 6-2 at second doubles. Sophomore Luke Weber and Alec Turcotte beat Nathan Chan and Olufela Fieulleteau 6-0 at third doubles.
Senior Grahith Movva was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Thomas at second singles and Turcotte beat Chan 7-5, 6-4 at fifth singles.
Against NYU, junior Gabriel Escobar picked up the Tigers lone win beating Zachary Freier 7-6, 7-5, 10-5 at fourth singles.
RIT returns to action on Wednesday (April 2) against Ithaca in the Liberty League opener.
