Women's Volleyball falls at Geneseo, 3-0
GENESEO, N.Y. – The RIT Women's Volleyball team lost, 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-16), at Geneseo, Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- First-year Anna Wasula led the Tigers with 10 kills to go along with seven digs.
- First-year Isabelle Swain logged a team-high nine digs
- First-year Sofia Leon added 10 assists and eight digs.
- Geneseo opened a 7-2 lead in the first before RIT notched three-straight points, including a pair of kills by Wasula, to pull within two. The Knights scored the next four points to start a decisive 12-4 run for a 19-9 lead it would not relinquish.
- Tied, 7-7, in the second, Geneseo scored five-straight points to open an 11-3 run for an 18-10 lead. The Tigers used a 5-2 surge to pull back within five, 20-15, but the Knights scored five of the final eight points to close the set.
- Geneseo opened a 10-4 lead in the third and, after two attack errors, scored seven-straight points for a commanding 17-6 lead en route to the sweep.
WHAT'S NEXT
RIT opens Liberty League play hosting St. Lawrence on Friday (Sept. 26) at 7:00 p.m. before welcoming Skidmore to Clark Gym on Saturday (Sept. 27) for a 2:00 p.m. start.
