Women's Volleyball swept by Skidmore, 3-0
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT Women's Volleyball team lost a 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-13) decision to visiting Skidmore, Saturday, in Liberty League play.
RIT LEADERS
- Junior Mia Gerber led RIT with seven kills.
- First-year Isabelle Swain tied the match high with 15 digs.
- Junior Jada Lee added 12 digs and two service aces.
- First-year Isabel Leon was credited with 15 assists and four digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Skidmore scored the first five points of the first set en route to an early 7-3 lead. RIT battled back within a point, 13-12, but the Thoroughbreds pieced together an 11-2 run for a decisive 24-14 lead.
- Tied, 4-4, in the second, Skidmore used a 7-2 surge to build an 11-6 lead. The Tigers pulled within two, 15-13, following a 7-4 run, before the teams traded four-point runs for a 19-17 score. Skidmore scored six of the final seven points to build a two-set lead.
- The Thoroughbreds scored 10-straight points to finish a 13-4 start to the third set. RIT got as close as seven, 18-11, but Skidmore finished the set with a 7-2 run to close the match.
