Men’s Cross Country finishes second at Yellowjacket Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior Derick Koen led the RIT men's cross country team to a second place finish out of 24 teams at the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational on Saturday at Genesee Valley Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Koen paced the Tigers, placing second overall out of 312 runners with a time of 25:17.2.
  • Junior Jackson Burger finished sixth in 25:37.2, with senior Evan Owens coming in 14th with a time of 25:59.3.
  • Nate Flaherty, a sophomore, placed 21st in 26:06.7 as junior Sebastian Montalvo rounded out the scoring five in 25th place with a time of 26:11.9.
  • RIT scored 68 points, placing second behind Geneseo (61) and ahead of Rochester (85).

 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Tigers are scheduled to run in Roberts Wesleyan's Harry F. Anderson Invitational this coming Saturday, Sept. 27.
