YORK, PA – RIT graduate students Luke Pilcher and Jake Erickson each scored two goals to lead the No. 2 Tigers to an 11-10 win at No. 10 York, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Pilcher, Erickson, sophomore Chase Bruno and senior Ian Dinga each scored in a four-goal RIT run to start the game.
- Dinga scored with 8:51 remaining to give RIT a 4-0 lead.
- York's Jack Grayson scored with 1:09 to play in the quarter to cut the Tiger's lead to 4-1.
- Graduate student defenseman Tanner Winklemann scored early in the second quarter to extend RIT's lead to 5-1.
- Leading 6-3, goals from Pilcher and graduate student midfielder Allyn French gave RIT an 8-3 lead.
- Michael Russo cut the deficit to 8-4 on his goal with 1:12 to play in the first half.
- Vinny Facciponti scored 15 seconds into the third quarter to cut the Tiger's lead to 8-5.
- Juniors Clifford Gaston and Dominic Comella scored back-to-back goals to extend the RIT lead to 10-5.
- York scored two straight, cutting the RIT lead to 10-7 on a Davis Fisher goal with 6:36 remaining in the third.
- Grayson and Will Harnick scored back-to-back goals to start the fourth quarter, cutting the RIT lead to 10-9 on Grayson's goal with 4:18 to play.
- Erickson scored with 2:24 to play to give RIT an 11-9 lead and Russo scored with 1:10 remaining to make it an 11-10 final.
GAME NOTES:
- York outshot RIT, 43-38.
- French won 11-of-23 face-offs and had seven ground balls.
- RIT went 21-of-21 on clears and had 26 ground balls.
- Sophomore goalie Alex Zborowski made 13 saves in net for RIT.
