Women's Soccer ties St. John Fisher, 1-1
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against St. John Fisher on Tuesday evening at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers struck early in the first half, but the visiting Cardinals responded shortly after halftime to earn the tie.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 14th minute, senior forward Elena Onodera converted a penalty kick to give RIT a 1-0 lead after a handball was called inside the penalty box.
- The Cardinals' Olivia Kalil netted the equalizer for St. John Fisher in the 46th minute.
GAME NOTES
- RIT outshot St. John Fisher, 17-6, including a 7-4 edge in shots on goal.
- In goal, senior Emily Sanchez made three saves for the Tigers.
- Avery Byrnes recorded five saves for the Cardinals.
- The result puts RIT at 2-0-3 on the season, while St. John Fisher sits at 1-2-1.
