Women's Basketball comes up short against St. John Fisher, 68-61
ROCHESTER N.Y. - The RIT women's basketball team fell short despite a strong second half rally to St. John Fisher, 68-61, Saturday, in the Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shooutout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tigers opened the game with an 8-2 run showcasing back-to-back three-pointers from first year forward Ben Kayser-Cochran and first year guard Caroline Henderson, respectively.
- St. John Fisher responded with a quick 7-0 run to tie the game at 10 before taking the lead with a continued 9-0 run to end the quarter 19-12.
- Sophomore guard Maddy Ramsgard and Kayser-Cochran combined for 8 points to open the second quarter, fighting their way back to only a five-point deficit.
- In the second half, the Cardinals continued to dominate, outscoring RIT 17-9 in the third quarter and forcing six turnovers for RIT.
- The Tigers rallied in the fourth quarter, going on an impressive 18-2 run spanning more than six and a half minutes to bring the Cardinals lead to just five points with 42 seconds left on the clock.
- St. John Fisher's Sidney Tomasso converted a pair of free-throws with 13 second left to seal the win for the visitors.
GAME NOTES
- Henderson led the Tigers with 18 points after draining three shots from beyond the arc to finish 7 of 18 from the field.
- Ramsgard added 16 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds and three steals.
- Kayser-Cochran scored 11 points after going 4 of 8 from the field and 2 of 4 from three-point range. The forward also went 1 of 2 at the line.
- St. John Fisher's Presliegh Brunner lead all scorers with 18 points as Tomasso recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

RIT is off until Tuesday, Dec. 3rd when the team hosts Brockport at 6 p.m.
