Women's Basketball loses to Skidmore, 58-43
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior guard Emma Waite scored a team-high 18 points as the women's basketball team fell to Skidmore, 58-43, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore guard Ansley Orrell scored on a driving layup, tying the score 2-2 with 6:22 left in the first quarter
- Skidmore scored on the next two possessions, taking a 7-2 lead with at the 4:37 mark
- Waite connected from behind the arc, putting the Tigers within two with 1:49 left in the first
- The Thoroughbreds took a 10-5 lead after the first ten minutes of play
- Sophomore guard Erin DiPaola made a jumper at the 8:29 mark in the second, cutting Skidmore's lead to three
- The Thoroughbreds went on a 6-2 run over the next two minutes, before Waite made a layup, putting the Tigers behind by five
- Junior forward Sonya Shivok scored on a layup with 3:53 left in the second, cutting Skidmore's lead to three
- The Thoroughbreds took a 28-21 lead at the half
- First-year forward Faye Kaplinski made two free throws, putting the Tigers within five with 7:11 left in the third
- Skidmore made a layup at 3:25 in the third, giving them a 39-29 advantage over RIT
- A made basket from beyond the arc by DiPaola cut the Thoroughbreds led to seven with 2:30 left in the third
- Skidmore had a 43-33 going into the fourth quarter
- A made free throw from junior guard Kaitlyn Bockelman put the Tigers within eight with 5:26 left in the fourth
- The Thoroughbreds finished the game outscoring the Tigers 11-4, earning a 58-43 victory
GAME NOTES
- Waite was 7-for-14 (50%) from the floor
- DiPaola logged a career-high 38 minutes of playing time
- Bockelman grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds

The Tigers return home next weekend, hosting Union on Friday (Feb. 16) with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Clark Gymnasium.
