Women's Volleyball travels to Clarkson for Liberty League Quarterfinals, Tuesday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's volleyball team travels to Clarkson this afternoon for a Liberty League Tournament Quarterfinal match on at 5:00 p.m. 

  • The Tigers (11-21) earned the sixth seed for the tournament after finishing the regular season with a 3-5 conference mark, while third-seeded Golden Knights compiled a 6-2 league record, including a 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-15) victory at RIT on Oct. 6.
  • The winner of Tuesday's match advances to play second-seeded William Smith in Friday's semifinals, hosted by top-seed Ithaca, at 6:30 p.m.. Fifth-seeded Skidmore travels to fourth-seeded Vassar for Tuesday's other quarterfinal with the winner advancing to play the Bombers in Friday's first semifinal at 4:00 p.m.. The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at Ithaca (5:00 p.m.).
  • RIT will be in the hunt for its fifth-consecutive Liberty League Semifinal appearance. The tournament field expanded from four to six teams last season after William Smith became the ninth women's volleyball-playing member of the conference.
  • The Tigers also look to make their first finals appearance since defeating Clarkson to win the program's first conference championship in 2018. RIT also played in the 2014 championship match, falling to Clarkson.
  • Sophomore outside hitter Macie Jolliffe ranks 12th in the Liberty League with 2.46 kills per set and also leads the conference with 0.81 service aces per set. She also leads RIT with 251 kills and is third with 226 digs and 2.11 digs per set
  • Senior setter Sydney Neff is third in the conference with 8.29 assists per set, ninth with 0.46 service aces per set and 12th with 2.75 digs per set.
  • Senior middle blocker Grace Phelan ranks 12th in the conference with 0.70 blocks per set and is second for the Tigers with 183 kills while leading all hitters with a .271 attack percentage.
  • Senior libero Hailey Blixt is fifth in the league with 3.57 digs per set and ranks third for RIT with 40 service aces and 0.36 service aces per set.
