CLEVELAND, Ohio – RIT sophomore Jacob Deysher (125 lb.) and first year Lawrence Liss (133 lb.) each placed third in the Freshman/Sophomore Division at the 2024 Bob Del Rosa Ohio Open, Sunday.
After a first-round bye, Deysher defeated Cleveland State's Parker Pikor 9-7. He beat Jacob Sombronski, 5-4 before a loss to Harrison Haffner in the semifinals. Deysher came back to beat Brad Cerankosky 7-2 in the third-place match.
Liss beat Devion Coffin with fall at 4:04 in his opening bout. He defeated Caleb Scott (Cleveland State) 7-6 before a 14-1 loss to Tanner Tishner in the semifinals. Liss picked up an 8-4 decision over Jacob Braun in the third-place match.
First year Quincy Bonville went 3-1 to place fifth at 197 lb. in the Freshman/Sophomore division, while first year Max Watson (157 lb.) and sophomore Josh Lanka (285 lb.) each placed sixth in the Freshman/Sophomore Division.
RIT returns to action on Saturday (Nov. 16) at Johnson and Wales at 11:00 a.m.
