Men's Soccer shuts out St. John Fisher, 3-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT sophomore forward Idriss Diallo tallied a career-best five points and two goals to lead the Tigers to a 3-0 win over St. John Fisher, Wednesday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Diallo scored in the 15th minute to give RIT the lead. Junior forward Gavin Culley fired a shot. Fisher keeper, Peter Studek, made the save. The rebound came to Culley who chipped a pass to Diallo who headed a shot into the corner.
  • Diallo scored his second of the game in the 48th minute to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Senior midfielder Selorm Dake fired a long pass to a streaking Diallo. He gathered and fired a shot from the top of the Fisher penalty box into the corner.
  • Junior midfielder Adam Eastman scored on a shot from 25 yards our in the 51st minute to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead. Diallo and senior midfielder Gabriel Zaninetti each had an assist on the play.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Kristian Dobbek made a stop on a shot from Jeremiah Strader from six yards out in the 66th minute to preserve RIT's clean sheet.

 
GAME NOTES:

  • Each team had nine shots. RIT had seven shots on net, to two for the Cardinals
  • St. John Fisher had four corner kicks to one for RIT.
  • Dobbek made two saves in to pick up the win.

RIT returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 13) against Clarkson in the Tiger's Liberty League opener at 2:00 p.m.
