ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three RIT student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League with weekly honors announced by the league, Monday.
Junior Kathryn Arbegast was named the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week and senior Derick Koen was selected the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. First year Moobin Kim was named the Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week.
Arbegast finished second out of 104 runners to lead RIT to a second-place finish at Brockport's Tom Balon Alumni Classic, Saturday. The junior runner completed the 5k course in a time of 18:38.9.
Koen crossed the finish line second overall at Brockport's Tom Balon Alumni Classic, Saturday. He finished the 5k course in a time of 15:37.8. Koen's finish helped the Tigers take second place with a combined total of 40 points.
Kim scored two goals to lead RIT to a 2-1 win at Geneva College, Saturday. Kim scored his first collegiate goal in the 61st minute to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. He tallied his second goal in the 90th minute to increase RIT's lead to 2-0.
