Jamie Hunt wins Men’s Lacrosse Elite 90 Award

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Jamie Hunt, a senior at RIT, is the recipient of the Elite 90 award for the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship.

Hunt, majoring in criminal justice, currently carries a 3.98 GPA. Hunt was presented with the award after the Tigers practice on Friday, May 24 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.

Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above academically who have participated in a sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.

Hunt, a co-captain and defenseman, has 14 caused turnovers and 18 ground balls in 23 games this season. He has six caused turnovers and three ground balls in four NCAA Tournament games in 2024.

RIT will play Tufts on Sunday, May 26 in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship game at 1 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field.
