Women's Volleyball takes 3-0 loss to Ithaca

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT Women's Volleyball team lost a 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-20) decision to visiting Ithaca, Wednesday, in Liberty League play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Ithaca opened a 7-4 first-set lead before the Tigers rode a 4-1 surge back within one, 8-7. The Bombers answered with a 6-2 run for a 14-9 lead and later scored seven of the final nine points to take the opener.
  • Ithaca started the second with a 10-2 lead, but RIT came back with a 10-4 run to close within two, 14-12. The Bombers finished the set with an 11-3 run for a 2-0 lead.
  • RIT started the third with five-straight points en route to an early 6-2 lead. Ithaca scored the next three points, but the Tigers scored an 8-4 run for its largest lead, 14-9. The Bombers bounced back with an 8-2 run for a 17-16 lead before RIT retook the lead with two-straight points. Ithaca put the match away with an 8-2 run to complete the sweep.

RIT travels to Penn State Behrend on Saturday (Oct. 4) for a tri-match, taking on the host Lions at 12:00 p.m. before facing Carnegie Mellon at 2:00 p.m.
