Koen competes at NCAA DIII Men’s National Championship

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – RIT junior Derick Koen completed the 2024 cross country season with a 210th place finish out of 294 runners at the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country National Championship, Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Making his second consecutive individual appearance in the national championship, Koen finished the race with a time of 25:51.3.
Wisconsin-Whitewater's Christian Patzka won the race with a time of 24:01.6 after chasing down Augsburg's Mohammed Bati (24:03.7) in the final stretch.
Wisconsin-La Crosse won the team title by scoring 77 points with Wartburg taking second with 173 points. Pomona-Pitzer placed third (182), Wisconsin-Whitewater was fourth (219) with NYU (220) rounding out the top five teams.
