Women's Volleyball lands seventh-straight AVCA Team Academic Award
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's volleyball team received the U.S. Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2022-23 academic year.
The Tigers were honored for the seventh-consecutive season after maintaining better than a 3.30 team grade point average. RIT has won the award 15 times since 2003.
A record 1,333 teams across the NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, junior college and high school levels were recognized on the list.
RIT finished the 2022 season with a 16-17 record, including a 5-3 Liberty League mark during the regular season. Seeded fourth for the conference tournament, the Tigers qualified for their fourth-consecutive Liberty League Semifinal appearance with a quarterfinal win over Vassar before falling to eventual champion Ithaca.
