Nominations for the RIT Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025 now being accepted

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Nominations for the RIT Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025 are now being accepted. 

  • Anyone wishing to nominate a team or an individual is invited to visit ritathletics.com/sb_output.aspx?form=28 and submit the appropriate information accordingly.
  • All nominations must be received by July 11th for consideration in this year's class. Committee deliberation will commence immediately before the latest class is announced on August 1, 2025.
  • The Class of 2025 will officially be inducted during a ceremony on October 18, 2025, in conjunction with Brick City Homecoming & Family Weekend at the DoubleTree by Hilton.

 
Purpose of the RIT Sports Hall of Fame
To recognize RIT student-athletes and/or teams who have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics, either by virtue of their performance on athletic teams representing the department or by meritorious efforts on behalf of intercollegiate athletics either as an undergraduate or in years after leaving the institution. Consideration will also be given to those who have made other significant contributions to the athletic program at RIT.
 
Nomination Process
Nominations must be submitted by someone other than the recommended recipient.  The nominator must provide the information requested on the nomination form.
 
Categories
1. Former Athletes
A former athlete must be a certified graduate of the Institute to include bachelor's and/or associate's degrees. The athlete becomes eligible five years after completing athletic eligibility.
 
2. Distinguished Service
Distinguished service shall include coaches, administrators and others who have made significant contributions to RIT Intercollegiate Athletics. There is no five-year waiting period, and those in the distinguished service category do not require an RIT degree.
 
3. Founders
The founders category recognizes individuals who were instrumental in helping a sport attain intercollegiate status. If the founder is a former student athlete, that individual must be a certified graduate and would become eligible five years after completing athletic eligibility.
 
4. Teams
In recognition of outstanding achievements, the executive committee shall consider athletic teams for induction. The executive committee has the authority to select one or more teams for induction each year. There is a five-year waiting period for teams.
