Six women's soccer players selected for CSC Academic All-District honors
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Six student-athletes from the RIT Women's Soccer team were 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District ® selections, announced Tuesday.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
All six players were recently named All-Liberty League as Gomez, Onodera, and Umbenhaur made the first team. Harris made the second team with Flynn earning third team honors.
Onodera led RIT with 21 points (7 goals, 7 assists) this season besting her 2023 output of 15 points (6 goals, 3 assists).
Gomez earned 12 points (3 goals, 6 assists) for the Tigers in 2024. The midfielder started in all 17 appearances this season, logging 1,188 minutes. The six assists are a career best.
Both Umbenhaur and Flynn were anchors for the RIT backline this season as both players started all 18 games and led the team in minutes played. Flynn led the team with 1,537 minutes while Umbenhaur ranked second with 1,430 minutes played.
Harris was named the Liberty League Offensive Player of the Week, Sep. 3, after leading the Tigers to a pair of wins to start the year. In the two games, Harris recorded two goals and two assists in wins over Stevens and Mt. Saint Mary's (NY). In all, the senior finished second on the team with a career-best 19 points (7 goals, 5 assists).
