Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CANTON, N.Y. – The RIT baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader at St. Lawrence; 4-1, and 10-9, Saturday.
GAME ONE – St. Lawrence 4, RIT 1
- The Saints took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a pair of RBI singles
- Graduate student pitcher Alex Slotter threw three scoreless innings before St. Lawrence added two more runs on an RBI single and an RBI double, taking a 4-0 advantage over the Tigers in the bottom of the seventh
- In the eighth, sophomore second baseman Jarin Moses grounded out to third, but junior shortstop Randy Dodig was able to cross home plate, cutting the Saints' lead to three
GAME TWO – St. Lawrence 10, RIT 9
- In the first inning, graduate student Zach Mecca hit a single and advanced to second on an error by the Saints defense that scored sophomore first baseman Trent Rapp and sophomore second baseman Jarin Moses, putting the Tigers up 2-0 early
- St. Lawrence hit a two-run homer in the second inning, tying the game 2-2
- In the third, Rapp doubled to left center and scored Moses. Shortly after, Mecca singled to right field and scored Rapp, putting RIT back in front 4-2
- The Saints got within one run in the fourth on an RBI double
- RIT took a 8-3 lead in the fifth on two RBI singles and one 2 RBI single
- St. Lawrence scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on an error by the Tigers defense
- In the sixth, the Tigers took a 9-4 lead after Rapp hit an RBI single that scored Dodig
- The Saints scored six runs and took the lead in the bottom of the sixth, winning the game 10-9
