Kronenberg and Women's Rowing land Liberty League weekly honors
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT first year Kira Kronenberg was the Liberty League Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week while the Women's Varsity 8 was named Liberty League Women's Rowing Boat of the Week announced by the league, Monday.
The women's varsity 8 boat comprised of coxswain Claire Schwenke, Evelyn Andersen, Ellen Shepard, Olivia Henry, Michelle Carney, Mikaela Simpkinson, Natalie Siwek, Lydia Blatnik and Jessica Hall took the top spot against St. Lawrence in a dual race, Saturday on the Genesee River. The Tigers finished the course in 7:32.20 winning by 23 seconds.
Kronenberg recorded a 2-0 record in singles and teamed up with classmate Maya Clinard to post a 2-0 record last week. Kronenberg, ranked No. 41 in the ITA Div. III rankings, defeated William Smith's Haley Levine, 6-0, 6-0 to help lead RIT to a 6-3 win, Wednesday. She took down Union's Gracie Nicol, 6-3, 6-1, Saturday. Kronenberg and Clinard defeated William Smith's Levine and Natalie Haythorn (8-7), Wednesday, and Union's Nicol and Chara Meidani (8-3), Saturday.
