Women's Soccer visits William Smith in Liberty League semifinals

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's soccer team visits William Smith in the Liberty League semifinals, Friday at 11 a.m.

HOW THEY GOT HERE

  • The third-seeded Tigers defeated Union, 1-0, at home in Tuesday's quarterfinal. Senior forward Elena Onodera scored the lone goal in the 56th minute.
  • William Smith is the two-seed in the tournament and received a quarterfinal bye after finishing the regular season with an 11-2-3 overall record and a 7-1-1 conference record.

 
SERIES HISTORY

  • RIT defeated the Herons, 3-2, at home in their regular-season game on Sept. 24.
  • The Herons hold an impressive 45-1-4 record against RIT.
  • In postseason meetings, William Smith is 4-0-2 against the Tigers. In 2022 and 2012, the Herons won penalty kick shootouts after playing to a pair of overtime draws.
