PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The RIT men's track & field team took part in St. John Fisher's Cardinal Classic, Saturday, in its final meet before hosting the Liberty League Outdoor Championships next weekend.
Junior thrower Erik Stephany placed second overall in the hammer throw with a regional qualifying mark of 53.09m, which is also a personal best. Stephany also took seventh in the discus with a throw of 41.90m.
In the javelin, sophomore Keenan Gosselin and senior Andrew Bernacki placed first and second with regional qualifying distances of 54.89m and 54.08m, respectively.
Sophomore high jumper Erich Brown took second after clearing 1.94m.
On the track, junior Eric Antonecchia finished third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.27 seconds.
Senior Max Stein placed third in the 200m, posting a personal best time of 22.26 seconds. The senior also competed in the 400m hurdles at the Penn Relays on Thursday, crossing the finish line in 54.35 seconds.

The Tigers host the 2025 Liberty League Outdoor Championships this coming Friday and Saturday (May 2-3) at the RIT Track & Field Complex. The men's decathlon and women's heptathlon events on Friday are scheduled to start at noon, with track event prelims starting at 2 p.m.
