Men's Soccer beats Alfred State, 2-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior forward Selorm Dake scored a goal to lead the Tigers to a 2-0 win over Alfred State, Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Dake scored in the 19th minute to give RIT the lead. Sophomore defender Adrian Sobczak sent in a corner kick that Dake headed into the top corner for his second goal of the season.
  • Sophomore forward Idriss Diallo had his shot in the 65th minute saved by Alfred State keeper, Alexander Preston and Dake had two shots midway through the second half turned aside by Preston.
  • Graduate student midfielder Chris Lee gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead on his goal in the 83rd minute. Diallo sent a cross into Alfred State's box that Lee gathered and fired past Preston off a deflection by a Pioneer's deflection.

 
GAME NOTES:

  • Each team had 10 shots. RIT fired eight shots on net, while the Pioneers had four shots on target.
  • The Tigers had five corner kicks to seven for Alfred State.
  • Sophomore goalie Kristian Dobbek made four saves to earn the win for RIT.
