Men's Tennis beats Union, 4-3
ROCHESTER, N.Y. –RIT junior Gabriel Escobar won the deciding to lead the Tigers to a 4-3 win over Union in Liberty League action, Saturday. The Tigers clinched a spot in the six-team Liberty League Tournament.
DOUBLES:
- First years Yu Tanimoto and Alexander Sinclair beat Austin Gregory and Jesus Sosa 7-5 at third doubles.
SINGLES:
- Tanimoto beat Wavid Wang 6-3, 6-3 at first singles.
- Senior Grahith Movva defeated Sosa 6-2, 6-2 at second singles and sophomore Alec Turcotte beat Ben Jacobs 6-4, 6-4 at third singles.
- Escobar clinched the match for the Tigers with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Daniel Saxe at fifth singles.
GAME NOTES:
- RIT's five Liberty League wins is the most conference wins in a season since joining the league in 2012.
WHAT'S NEXT:
RIT returns to action on Friday (May 2) in first round of the Liberty League Tournament at Cornell.
