ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior guard Emma Waite leads the Tigers with a season-high 20 points as the women's basketball team falls to Vassar, 71-52, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A three-pointer from Waite ties the game at five with 7:04 left in the first
- Junior forward Sonya Shivok is fouled on the Tigers' next possession, she makes one of two and gives RIT a one point lead
- Waite closes out the first quarter with two made free throws, putting RIT up 18-17 after the first ten minutes of play
- Vassar goes on a 10-3 scoring run and takes a 28-20 lead with 2:18 left in the second
- First-year guard Ella Wilson makes a three to end the second quarter, cutting Vassar's lead to five at the half
- Sophomore guard Erin DiPaola makes a driving layup at the 8:26 mark in the third, cutting Vassar's lead to two points
- Vassar finishes the third quarter on a 21-6 scoring run, taking a 53-36 lead going into the fourth
- The Brewers outscore the Tigers 18-16, earning a 71-52 victory

- Junior guard Lila McGuiggin had a team-high nine rebounds
