Men's Hockey announces incoming class for 2025-26 campaign

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - First-year RIT Men's Hockey Coach Matt Thomas announced the incoming class of 11 new players joining the program for the 2025-26 season. 

"We're extremely excited about the potential and promise of our incoming recruiting class," said Thomas. "This group brings a strong blend of skill, character, and competitiveness that aligns perfectly with our program. Whether it's junior experience, leadership qualities, or  talent, each player adds unique value and depth to our roster. We're confident this class will make an immediate impact on the ice and in the locker room, and we look forward to seeing their growth this season."

Camden Bajzer – Forward – Cleveland, Ohio – Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL)

Coach Madolora Says

: Camden has the leadership qualities to make an impact in the locker room and on the ice. He also brings a history of balanced point production we look for him to continue, along with the potential to have an impact on our special teams. He capped his junior hockey career with the BCHL Cowichan Valley Capitals last season, totaling 52 points (22G/30A) in 52 games while wearing an "A" on his sweater. He was also previously the Offensive MVP during his career at Gilmour Academy, including 89 points (38G/51A) in 64 games during the 2021-22 season.    

Austin Brimmer – Forward – Markham, Ontario – LIU Sharks (NCAA DI Independent)

Coach Thomas Says

: Austin is a power forward who will add physicality to our lineup and has a history of scoring goals in different ways using his size. Transferring after appearing in 97 games at Long Island University over the last three seasons, he will also add leadership to our locker room. He scored 55 career points on 23 goals and 32 assists, including 21 points (9G/12A) last winter as the Sharks finished with a 20-12-2 record for the first 20-win campaign in program history.

Alex Christopoulos – Forward – Richmond Hill, Ontario – St. Francis Xavier X-Men (USports)

Coach Insalaco Says

: Alex is an elite goal scorer who will provide offense both five-on-five and on the power play. He totaled 251 games and 167 points during five seasons in the OHL, scoring a career-high 74 points (49G/25A) in 68 games in 2022-23 with the Windsor Spitfires to follow up a run to a Western Conference Championship the previous season. He also tallied 42 points (24G/18A) in 49 games to help the Saginaw Spirit win their first ever Memorial Cup in 2024. Alex spent last season playing for St. Francis Xavier University, totaling 32 points (15G/17A) in 29 games on his way to USports (AUS) All-Rookie status.

Caleb Elfering – Forward – Richland, Washington – Chilliwack Chiefs (BCHL)

Coach Thomas Says

: Caleb is a versatile player who can contribute up and down our lineup. Along with a clutch scoring ability, he will add to our identity of speed and relentlessness. He played 105 games and totaled 81 points on 35 goals and 46 assists the last two seasons with the Chilliwack Chiefs, including 49 points (22G/27A) during a runner-up finish in the BCHL finals last season.  

Evan Konyen – Forward – Newmarket, Ontario – Flint Firebirds (OHL)

Coach Insalaco Says

: Evan is an excellent two-way forward who can score while being responsible defensively, possessing the skills to play on both the power play and the penalty kill. He spent the last five seasons in the OHL, including four season with the Sudbury Wolves where he compiled 143 points (56G/87A) in 189 appearances. He then logged 52 games and 32 points (14G/18A) for the Flint Firebirds last season.

Collin Mackenzie – Goaltender – Elora, Ontario – Ottawa 67's (OHL)

Coach Madolora Says

: Collin's ability to read the game and patience on his feet will set him up for success at the collegiate level. He made over 100 appearances and won 51 games over the last four seasons with the Ottawa 67's, including a standout 2022-23 campaign when he led the OHL with a 1.88 GAA and a .928 save percentage en route to a 21-2-3 record. He will add depth and stability to our goaltending corps while looking to compete for playing time right away.
 
Will Moore – Forward – Westfield, Indiana – Prince George Spruce Kings (BCHL)

Coach Madolora Says

: Another newcomer with balanced point production, we anticipate Will will add a skilled touch to our forward group and improve the dynamics of our lineup. He put together a 40-point (16G/24A) campaign in 45 games with the NAHL Johnstown Tomahawks in 2023-24 before adding 31 points (17G/14A) in 42 appearances with the BCHL Prince George Spruce Kings last winter.

Brock Reinhart – Defenseman – Elora, Ontario – Penticton Vees (BCHL)

Coach Insalaco Says

: Brock is a physical two-way defenseman who plays with an edge. Also and excellent penalty killer, he will provide defensive depth and stability on our backend. He most recently played 104 games the last two seasons with the BCHL Penticton Vees, totaling 33 points (7G/16A) while serving as alternate captain. He compiled 86 appearances the previous two years with the Elmira Sugar Kings (GOJHL), including a 37-point effort (7G/30A) en route to Team MVP and Best Defenseman honors in 2023.
 
Ben Roger – Defenseman – Brighton, Ontario – St. Mary's University Huskies (USports)

Coach Insalaco Says

: Ben is a strong skating, mobile defenseman who can facilitate offensively both at even strength and on the power play. A 2021 second round NHL draft pick by the Ottawa Senators, he played five seasons in the OHL for the London Knights and the Kingston Frontenacs before spending the last two seasons playing at St. Mary's University in Nova Scotia where he compiled 26 points (6G/20A) in 50 appearances.
 
Boris Skalos – Forward – Clifton, N.J. – Mercyhurst (AHA)

Coach Thomas Says

: Boris is an experienced player that understands the rigors of college hockey and will add speed and offensive creativity to our lineup. In two seasons at AHA-rival Mercyhurst, Skalos totaled 41 points (20G/21A) during 69 appearances. He landed AHA All-Rookie Team honors in 2023-24 after leading the Lakers with 15 goals and finishing second with 27 points.

Zach Wigle – Forward – Oakville, Ontario – North Bay Battalion (OHL)

Coach Insalaco Says

: Zach is a very smart and responsible player who can play both center and left wing, possessing the essential skill to be a top forward who can play on both on the power play and the penalty kill. A five year OHL veteran, he compiled 69 points (29G/40A) in 173 appearances with the Barrie Colts, before playing the second half of last season with the North Bay Battalion, adding 10 points (6G/4A) in 32 games.
