ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT first-year goaltender Jakub Krbecek was named the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Men's Hockey Rookie of the Week, Monday.
Krbecek won the award for the third time this season after backstopping both of the Tigers' victories at Air Force over the weekend.
He started with 34 saves in Friday's 2-1 victory, including all 16 shots he faced in the third period, before the Tigers scored in the closing seconds. Krbecek then stopped 27 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory, including all 13 attempts by the Falcons in the third period.
RIT hosts Holy Cross this weekend in the first of three-straight AHA home series to complete the regular season. Friday's faceoff is slated for 7:05 p.m. while Saturday is scheduled for a 5:05 p.m. start.
