Men's Lacrosse place 10 on 2024 Liberty League All-Conference Team

ROCHESTER, NY -- Ten members from the RIT men's lacrosse team were named to the 2024 Liberty League Men's Lacrosse All-Conference team announced Tuesday, May 7. Senior Michael Grace was named the Defensive Player of the Year.  
 
Grace, graduate student John Mozrall and junior Clifford Gaston were first team selections. Graduate students Jake Erickson, Luke Pilcher and Tanner Winklemann and seniors Seth Grottenthaler and Caiden Perry were second team picks. Graduate student Allyn French and sophomore Alex Zborowski were honorable mention picks.
 
Grace is tied for tenth in the league with 17 caused turnovers. The 2023 First Team All-Liberty League selection is second the team and sixth in the league with 83 ground balls, averaging 4.37 per contest. Grace had a season-high eight ground balls at RPI and Geneseo and caused a season-best four turnovers against Geneseo.
 
Gaston leads the team and the Liberty League with a career-high 92 points, averaging 4.84 points per game. A 2023 First Team All-Liberty League selection, Gaston leads the conference with 64 goals and fourth with 28 assists. He tallied 18 goals and 10 assists in Liberty League play, including three goals and three assists against Vassar. He scored a season-high six goals against Cortland and Nazareth and tallied eight points in wins over Grove City and Cortland. Gaston recorded 12 points and eight goals in last weekend's Liberty League Tournament.
 
Mozrall is seventh on the team with 28 points, including 15 points in Liberty League contests. A 2023 First Team All-Liberty League selection, Mozrall recorded a season-best four points on two goals and two assists against Union in the regular-season finale. A co-captain, Mozrall tallied a goal and assist in last Sunday's Liberty League Championship.
 
Erickson is second on the team and the Liberty League with a career-best 84 points. He leads the league with 48 assists averaging 2.53 per game and is second in the league averaging 4.42 points per game. Erickson recorded 24 points in Liberty League play, including a season-high eight points on three goals five assists against Clarkson. A 2023 First Team All-Liberty League selection at Ithaca, Erickson tallied 10 points (4g, 6a) in last weekend's Liberty League Tournament, including four assists and six points in the championship game.
 
Pilcher is third on the team and fifth in the Liberty League with 76 points and fourth in the league with 50 goals. He is seventh in the conference averaging 4.0 points and 2.63 goals per game. A two-time First Team All-Liberty League selection, Pilcher tallied 24 points on 17 goals and seven assists in conference play, including four goals and six points in the regular season finale against Union.  
 
Grottenthaler is fifth on the team in scoring with 35 points, on 18 goals and 17 assists. A 2023 Honorable Mention All-Liberty League selection, Grottenthaler tallied 16 points on eight goals and eight assists in conference play, including two goals and an assist against Ithaca and Clarkson.  
 
Perry has a career-high 25 ground balls and six caused turnovers in 19 games this season. A co-captain, Perry had a season-best four ground balls against Tufts and Cortland and had a season-high two caused turnovers at Nazareth. He had two ground balls and scored a goal against Union in last weekend's Liberty League Semifinal.
 
Winklemann is second on the team with 12 caused turnovers to go along with 25 ground balls. He had eight ground balls and six caused turnovers in Liberty League play and had three ground balls against RPI in last weekend's Liberty League Championship.
 
French is sixth in the Liberty League winning 56.2 percent of his face-offs and fourth in the league grabbing 5.63 ground balls per game. He won 51.7 percent in league play, averaging 4.71 ground balls per contest. French won a season-high 19 face offs at Nazareth and scooped up a season-high 10 ground balls against Nazareth and Cortland.
 
Zborowski is 16-2 and is second in the Liberty League with a 9.09 goals against average and a .601 save percentage. The sophomore netminder was second in league-play with an 8.20 goals against average and a .639 save percentage. He made a season-high 19 saves against Washington & Lee.

RIT (17-2) received an at-large berth into the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship and will face Hope in the second round on Friday (May 10) at 12:00 p.m.
