Men's Basketball loses 78-68 at home to Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT junior forward Jackson Otis scored 13 points in the Tigers 78-68 loss to Rochester, Sunday.
 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior guard Matt Caggiano led RIT with 13 first-half points to pace the Tigers to a 41-32 halftime lead. He shot 5-of-8 from the floor and grabbed four rebounds.
  • Junior guard Brock Bowen scored with 24 seconds remaining in the first half to give RIT a nine-point lead at the break.
  • Senior guard Keegan Ocorr converted a pair of free throws early in the second half to extend the Tigers' lead to 43-32.
  • Otis drained a three-pointer with 12:06 to play, while junior forward Josiah Turner scored on a layup with 11:07 to play to give RIT a 58-45 lead.
  • Junior guard Chase Dickens made three free throws after a Rochester foul with 9:01 remaining to give the Tigers a 61-48 lead.
  • Rochester went on a 16-2 run, taking a 64-63 lead on a Malachi Moore jumper with 5:17 to play.
  • Otis scored on a layup with 2:22 remaining to give RIT a 68-67 lead.
  • The Yellowjackets outscored RIT 11-0 over the final two minutes to seal the win.

 
GAME NOTES

  • RIT shot 26-of-64 from the floor, including 3-of-19 from beyond the arc.
  • Caggiano scored 15 points, while Ocorr finished with 11 points.
  • The Tigers scored 38 points in the paint
