Women's Basketball loses at Rochester, 70-46

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's basketball team fell on the road to Rochester, 70-46, in their final non-conference game of the season, Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Tigers' only lead of the game was near the mid-point of the first quarter when sophomore guard Maddy Ramsgard made a layup to make it 8-7 with 4:06 on the clock.
  • Holding a slim 18-17 advantage with 5:43 left in the half, Rochester used a 15-0 run in the second quarter to take control of the game as the Yellowjackets went into the break leading 33-19.
  • In the third quarter, Rochester scored 10 unanswered points to extend the lead to 23 points.
  • Rochester's Grace Corelli scored a three-pointer with 8:54 in the fourth quarter to give the Yellowjackets a 30-point advantage, the largest of the game.

 
GAME NOTES

  • First-year guard Caroline Henderson had a game-high 15 points and finished the game going 5-of-9 from the field, including a trio of three's as well as 2-of-2 at the free-throw line.
  • Ramsgard added 10 points to go along with season-high six assists.
  • The Yellowjackets' Abby Gress led all scorers with 17 points.
  • As a team, RIT shot 31.7 percent from the field while hitting 4-of-20 shots from beyond the arc.
