Bard named Athletic Communications Assistant

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jacqueline Nicholson announced Megan Bard has been named Athletic Communication Assistant for the 2023-2024 academic year. During the nine-month term, Bard will work alongside Director of Athletic Communications Tim Volkmann and Associate Director of Athletic Communications Steve Jaynes.

Bard spent the last year as an athletic communications graduate assistant at SUNY Oswego while completing a Master's Degree in Strategic Communication.

"We are excited to bring Megan onto our team," said Volkmann. "She already has a strong athletic communications background and we look forward to seeing what she will bring to the department."

Bard previously completed a bachelor's degree in communication in three years at SUNY Geneseo. She also served as an athletic communications intern during her time with the Knights.

The Auburn, N.Y. native was a four-year member of the volleyball, basketball and softball teams at Jordan-Elbridge High School.

"Having played sports for so long, I developed a passion for them all which is why I began working within athletic communications," Bard said. "I'm excited to join the RIT Athletic Department and I think this will be a great opportunity for me. I look forward to working with the talented team of administrators, coaches, and student-athletes to continue to grow the Tigers brand within the local community and Division I and III athletics."
