Women's Tennis competes at ITA Northeast Regional Championships

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The RIT women's tennis team competed at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships.
 
In singles, junior Kira Kronenberg defeated Hamilton's Grace Qian, 6-3, 6-3 in the round of 64. She beat Juliette Ceas (RPI), 8-4 in the round of 32 before a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Ginevra Muratori (Vassar) in the round of 16.
 
Sophomore Emily Greb beat Vera Bondarenko (NYU) in three sets in the round of 64. She defeated Samantha Rainero (Hamilton) in the round of 32 before a 1-6, 2-6 loss to Ellie Lake (Skidmore) in the round of 16.
 
Sophomore Maya McDaniel defeated Natalie Pipes (Geneseo), 6-4, 6-1 in the round of 64. She was an 8-7 winner over Victoria Sarabosing (RPI) in the round of 32 before a 3-6, 2-6 loss to Iris Lis (Vassar) in the round of 16.
 
In doubles, the team of Kronenberg and McDaniel beat Pipes and Joann Catalano (Geneseo), 8-0 in the round of 32, but fell to Ananya Krishman and Madison Kirby (Vassar), 8-6 in the round of 16.
 
RIT returns to action on Wednesday (Oct. 8) at Hartwick at 4:00 p.m.
