RIT Athletics Preview: Feb. 3 – Feb. 9
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Tigers extended their winning streak to four games with wins over RPI and William Smith last week.
In their 59-58 win over RPI, first-year guard Caroline Henderson recorded her first career double-double after scoring a game-high 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds.
RIT is on the road this week with games at St. Lawrence and Clarkson.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
RIT fell twice at home in closely contested games over the weekend. After falling to RPI, 78-73, the team lost 84-73 to Hobart.
Graduate student Matt Caggiano paced the team with 21 points against RPI and 17 points against Hobart.
The team visits St. Lawrence and Clarkson this weekend.

MEN'S and WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
RIT put together a strong showing at their second home meet last Thursday.
Senior thrower Josh Auler threw a personal best 17.54m to win the weight throw for RIT at their Thursday night meet. Auler's throw is the second-best distance in program history and the 24th-best distance in Division III this season.
Junior sprinter Sadie Schreiner ran the second-fastest time in Division III in the 200m with a time of 24.46 seconds. The junior also won the 400m with a time of 56.20 seconds.
Both the men's and women's teams are in action this weekend when they compete in the Brockport Multi Friday and Saturday (Feb. 7-8).

MEN'S HOCKEY
RIT topped Air Force twice over the weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo.
In a 2-1 win to start the two-game series, sophomore forward Matthew Wilde scored the game-winner with 26.8 seconds left in regulation.
Senior forward Tanner Andrew scored the game-winner in overtime to lift the Tigers to a 3-2 win in the second game.
The team hosts Holy Cross for a two-game series this weekend.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY
RIT hosted Mercyhurst for a two-game series over the weekend, falling 3-2 in Friday's contest before tying the Lakers 1-1 on Saturday.
Senior defensewoman Kyla Bear scored both goals in the 3-2 setback for RIT.
In the 1-1 draw, senior forward Athena Vasdani scored the Tigers' goal 11 minutes into the third period.
The team heads west to take on Lindenwood for two games this week.

WRESTLING
The Tigers earned a 22-17 win at St. John Fisher in a dual meet on Friday.
Junior Josh Harkless, ranked No. 3 at 285 lb., pinned Jackson Burns to give RIT a 17-6 lead before senior Michael Glynn III, ranked No. 6 at 149 lb., clinched the match with 16-1 technical fall win over Torin Bishop.
RIT returns to action on Saturday when they host the Tiger Duals inside Clark Gymnasium.

MEN'S and WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING
Both the men's and women's teams earned wins in a dual meet against Hobart and William Smith on Saturday.
Atanasoff swam a personal best 21.61 seconds in the 50 Yard Butterfly, the third fastest time in Division III this season. In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Atanasoff won the event with a time of 20.68 seconds to go along with a split time of 20.12 in the relay.
Sophomore Rose LaDue swam personal bests in the 50 Yard Butterfly (27.34) and 200 Yard Freestyle (2:00.98) as well as swimming legs in the 200 Yard Medley and 200 Yard Freestyle relays.
RIT is in action this Saturday at Ithaca's Genaca Diving Invitational.
