Men’s Cross Country takes third at Liberty League Championships

CANTON, N.Y. - Senior Derick Koen led the RIT men's cross country team to its best-ever team finish at the Liberty League Championships, placing third out of nine teams, Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Koen paced the Tigers with 12th overall finish with a time of 25:57.8, as classmate Evan Owens placed 15th in 26:30.4.
  • Jackson Burger, a junior, came in 17th with a clocking of 26:35.8 with fellow junior Sebastian Montalvo finishing right behind in 18th (26:38.4).
  • Sophomore Spencer Buff rounded out the scoring for RIT in 23rd place with a time of 26:50.2.
  • RIT scored 83 points to finish third, with RPI winning the race with 22 points.  St. Lawrence placed second with 69 points.

 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Tigers are set to host the NCAA Division III Niagara Region Championships on Saturday, Nov. 15, at Genesee Valley Park.
