ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior Maddy Cook and first-year Kate Carlone were named to the 2025 Liberty League Softball All-Conference team, announced Tuesday.
Cook was voted a first-team selection after landing second-team recognition a year ago, while Carlone earned second-team honors during her first season in a Tiger uniform.
MADDY COOK
- Cook led the Liberty League with a .426 batting average this past spring, including 17 multi-hit games.
- Her 33 RBI tied for the fourth-highest single season total in program history, while her 90 career RBI are tied for third.
- Cook moved up to sixth in Tiger history with 148 career hits, including 52 this past spring – tied for the ninth-highest single season total.
- She finished a double short of the single-season program record, knocking 15 this spring, while her five home runs tied for the fifth-highest single-season total.
- Cook graduates third in program history with 214 total bases and 457 at-bats, fifth with nine home runs and tied for ninth with 143 career games played.
KATE CARLONE
- Carlone batted .405 with 30 hits and 14 RBI this past spring, leading the Tigers with a .458 on-base percentage in 74 at-bats over 26 games played.
- Tied for fourth on the team with eight multi-hit games, she also logged five games with multi-RBI, including a 3-for-3 performance with four runs scored and three RBI in the 23-3 win over Keuka (Apr. 3).
- She was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week on March 10 after combining to go 10-for-18 with a triple, five run scored and seven RBI in six games to open the season.
RIT finished the season with a 10-25 record, including a 2-12 mark in the Liberty League.
