Two Tigers land Liberty League weekly honors
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Two RIT student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League with weekly accolades, announced Monday. Sophomore goalie Alex Zborowski was the Men's Lacrosse Defensive Peroformer of the Week, while first-year Kira Kronenberg was the Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Kronenberg recorded a 2-0 record in singles and 2-0 in doubles for RIT, last week. Kronenberg defeated Allegheny's Maria Lounder, 6-1, 6-1 in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Gators. She beat Justine Stanejko of New Paltz, 6-2, 6-5, Sunday. Kronenberg teamed up with classmate Maya Clinard to record a 2-0 record at first doubles.
Zborowski recorded a 2-0 record, an 8.54 goals against average and a .654 save percentage to help No. 2 RIT to a pair of wins, last week. The sophomore goalie made 14 saves in the Tiger's 16-8 win over Geneseo, Wednesday, and recorded 17 saves in RIT's 12-9 win at No. 5 St. Lawrence, Saturday.
