Women's Hockey place three on CHA All-Conference Team
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three players from the RIT women's hockey team were to the 2024 All-College Hockey America Team announced by the league Tuesday, Feb. 22. Sophomore goaltender Sophia Bellina was a Second Team selection, while first year forward Addie Alvarez and first year defensewoman Emma Pickering were named to the All-Rookie Team.
Bellina has played in 20 games, recording a career-high 10 wins. She leads the CHA with a 2.03 goals against average, a .935 save percentage and is fourth averaging 26.14 saves per game. The CHA Goaltender of the Month in November, Bellina has made 40 or more saves four times, including a career-best 44 saves on three separate occasions. Her .935 save percentage currently ranks third-best in CHA history, while her 2.03 goals against average currently ranks eighth in CHA history. Bellina was named to Hockey Commissioners Association Goalie of the Year watch list in January.
Alvarez has played in 32 games and is second on the team with 19 points and second with 11 assists to go along with eight goals. She recorded 15 points (5g, 10a) in CHA play, including a season-high three assists against Lindenwood (Oct. 28).
Pickering has played in 32 games and is tied for fifth on the team in scoring with 12 points on five goals and seven assists. She leads the team and is fourth in the CHA with 57 blocked shots, including a season-high five blocks at No. 7 St. Lawrence (Oct. 19). Pickering has six points (2g, 4a) in CHA play, including a goal and an assist at Penn State (Feb. 16).
RIT plays at Penn State in the CHA Semifinal best-of-three series Friday-Sunday (Feb. 23-25).
