ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT junior Derick Koen finished 18th out of 261 runners to lead the men's cross country team to seventh place out of 20 teams at the Yellowjacket Invitational, Saturday, hosted by the University of Rochester at Genesee Valley Park.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Koen paced the Tigers by completing the eight-kilometer course in 26:39.9, while senior Jeffrey Gibbs finished 36th with a time of 27:20.3.
- First-year runners Brandon Blandino and Spencer Buff finished 41st and 42nd, respectively, with times of 27:29.0 and 27:29.4.
- Sophomore Zachary Sowers finished 71st (28:05.9) to close out the Tigers' top-five.
- Colgate won the team title with 32 points followed by Buffalo (94), Hamilton (117), Geneseo (131), and St. Bonaventure (170) in the top-five. RIT finished with 189 points.

RIT will run in the Harry F. Anderson Invitational at Roberts Wesleyan next Saturday (Sept. 28) at 10:00 a.m.
