Women’s Soccer Draws Clarkson, 0-0
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT women's soccer were unable to find the back of the net in a scoreless draw against visiting Clarkson, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Knights' Paige Ford was given a red card in the 14th minute when stopping a potential scoring opportunity for RIT. With the ejection, Clarkson competed with 10 player the rest of the game.
- Elena Onodera had one of the best looks on goal in the 49th minute. The junior midfielder dribbled the ball past a defender on the left side and found open space to take a shot inside the penalty box, sending her shot inside the left post before Clarkson's Molly DiCaprio made a diving save.
- Three minutes later, Emma Robinson provided Clarkson's best opportunity when she sent a shot bouncing off the crossbar.
GAME NOTES
- The Tigers out-shot Clarkson, 14 to 7, while placing nine shots on goal.
- RIT pressured the visitors throughout the game, taking six corner kicks to Clarkson's one.
- In goal, senior Emily Sanchez recorded the shutout after making three saves.
- Onodera recorded a game-high three shots on goal for the Tigers.
