Women’s Soccer loses to St. Lawrence, 1-0
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to St. Lawrence in Liberty League action Saturday.
Despite outshooting the Saints and generating multiple scoring chances, the Tigers were unable to find the back of the net.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Lawrence scored the lone goal of the match in the 9th minute when Sydney Keenan fired a shot from 20 yards out on the left side into the upper right corner.
- St. Lawrence missed a penalty kick in the 52nd minute, giving RIT a chance to stay in the game.
- Senior goalkeeper Emily Sanchez made three saves for the Tigers, including a key stop in the 79th minute to keep the Tigers within striking distance.
GAME NOTES
- Sophomore forward Amerie Mills led the Tigers with four shots, including two on goal, while senior defender Roberta Moger added three shots, two of which were on target.
- RIT outshot St. Lawrence 11-to-6, including a 6-to-4 edge in shots on goal.
- The Tigers also held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
- The loss drops RIT to 5-3-6 overall and 2-3-1 in Liberty League play.
