Women's Hockey beats Post, 2-0 in season opener
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT first year forward Kolbee Ashe tallied a goal and an assist to lead the Tigers to a 2-0 win over Post in the 2025-26 season-opener, Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior goalie Sophia Bellina made three saves in a scoreless first period.
- Sophomore forward Brac Kelley had four of the Tigers 11 shots in the opening frame.
- Sophomore forward Ireland Stein scored a power play goal at 8:45 of the second period to give RIT the lead. Ashe and first year defender Laura Dyke each had assists on the play.
- Ashe scored her first collegiate goal at 19:22 of the frame to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Kelley and first year forward Cassie Barnes each had an assist.
- RIT fired 14 shots in the third period, including one from junior forward Addie Alvarez midway through the period.
GAME NOTES:
- RIT outshot Post, 40-13.
- The Tigers went 1-for-4 on the power play and Post was 0-for-4.
- Bellina made 13 saves in net to earn her third career shutout win.
- Barnes recorded her first collegiate point with an assist.

RIT returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 27) against Post at 3:00 p.m.
