Men's Hockey to face Miami (Ohio) in Friendship Four opener
BELFAST, Northern Ireland— The RIT Men's Hockey team will take on Miami (Ohio) in the opening round of the 2025 Friendship Four in Belfast, Northern Ireland as pairings were announced, Friday.
On Friday, Nov. 28, the Tigers will take on the RedHawks at 2:00 p.m. EST following the tournament opener between Sacred Heart and Union at 9:00 a.m. EST.
The consolation (10:00 a.m. EST) and championship (2:00 p.m. EST) games are scheduled the following day on Saturday, Nov. 29.
All four games will be played at the SSE Arena - home of the Belfast Giants – with the coveted Belpot going to the winner.
The only NCAA intercollegiate ice hockey tournament to take place outside of the United States, the Friendship Four men's tournament has been played six times since the inaugural event in 2015. RIT and Sacred Heart will be the first two Atlantic Hockey teams to play in the event. Union will be making its second appearance in the tournament after defeating Boston University, 2-1, in the 2018 final. Miami will be the first National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) institution to play in the event.
